About the role

Four-month Winter 2027 Business Analyst co-op/internship in Toronto, supporting business operations, technology initiatives, requirements analysis, process improvement, testing, and data-driven recommendations. The role is designed for students currently enrolled in academic programs who are returning to their studies and offers exposure to project teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit business requirements, assess feasibility, and support solutions that achieve expected business outcomes.
  • Analyze business processes, market data, and project effects to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders throughout delivery, ensuring development aligns with business requirements.
  • Create clear project documentation covering functional and non-functional business requirements for multiple stakeholders.
  • Build test cases to validate business requirements and end-user testing results.
  • Identify system issues, analyze workflows, and troubleshoot business-raised problems while applying BMO’s Risk Management Framework.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to studies after the co-op or internship.
  • Foundational proficiency in data analysis, process improvement, systems thinking, and business requirements analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of Agile delivery, business architecture frameworks, application functional design, and functional analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Digital fluency, stakeholder analysis and management, learning agility, and insights development and reporting.
  • Specialized knowledge from education or business experience, with a strong desire to learn.
