About the role
Twelve-month Business Analyst co-op/internship in BMO’s Technology group, based in Toronto. The role supports business and technology initiatives through requirements analysis, process documentation, data-driven insights, testing, stakeholder collaboration, and issue diagnosis. It suits students returning to their studies who want to develop practical business analysis and technology experience.
Responsibilities
- Elicit requirements, assess feasibility, and ensure solutions achieve expected business outcomes.
- Support project teams throughout the lifecycle, aligning development with documented business requirements.
- Create clear project artifacts covering functional and non-functional business requirements for stakeholders.
- Analyze processes, systems, business data, and project impacts to develop insights and recommendations.
- Build test cases to validate business requirements and end-user testing results.
- Identify malfunctions, troubleshoot business-raised issues, and propose creative solutions.
Program Experience
- Join BMO’s campus program and contribute to work from the first day.
- Access BMO Academy, Women in Technology mentorship, student activities, and Employee Resource Groups.
- Work mostly independently while collaborating with business stakeholders and project teams.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to studies after the internship.
- Foundational proficiency in data analysis, process optimization, systems thinking, and business requirements analysis.
- Foundational proficiency in stakeholder management, functional analysis, application design, and insights reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and learning agility skills.
- Digital fluency, Agile delivery knowledge, and familiarity with business architecture frameworks are expected.
- Specialized knowledge gained through education or business experience; motivated applicants are encouraged to apply.
