About the role
An eight-month co-op/internship supporting hybrid cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, automation, security, and reliability initiatives at BMO in Toronto. The role involves designing and operating cloud solutions, supporting application transformation, improving monitoring and governance, and developing practical technology skills through BMO’s campus experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and project-manage hybrid cloud initiatives across infrastructure and platform environments.
- Develop service catalogue offerings for public cloud and Software Defined Data Centre platforms.
- Provide infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service cloud architecture and engineering expertise.
- Build and operate DevOps infrastructure supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery requirements.
- Implement automation to improve operational efficiency, security, and cost management.
- Support cloud migration, application transformation, monitoring, site reliability engineering, and cloud code deployment.
Student Program
- Participate in BMO’s campus program and gain skills for related technology roles.
- Access BMO Academy, the Women in Technology Mentorship Program, and student-led BMO Social Squad activities.
- Build networks through Employee Resource Groups and broader BMO student experiences.
- Only students currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to studies are considered.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud technologies, cloud infrastructure, and exposure to artificial intelligence.
- Knowledge of databases, cloud governance, cloud security, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of automation, application lifecycle management, microservices, and source control management.
- Critical thinking, systems thinking, analytical ability, problem-solving, adaptability, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Motivation to learn; specialized knowledge may come from education or business experience.
