About the role

Summer 2027 Credit Analyst Internship in Phoenix supporting Commercial Banking lending decisions. You will analyze client financial information, assess credit risk, monitor portfolios, prepare credit summaries, support loan structuring, and collaborate with Relationship Managers. The role also involves client service, data accuracy, compliance, and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client financial information, assess creditworthiness, and recommend lending decisions to the Manager.
  • Prepare credit summaries, proposals, and presentations supporting new, renewed, and extended loans.
  • Monitor commercial client portfolios, compliance metrics, industry trends, risks, opportunities, and required corrective actions.
  • Structure and support loans aligned with client needs, bank policies, and risk requirements.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and business partners to maintain client relationships and provide service support.
  • Identify revenue, cross-selling, share-of-wallet, and portfolio-growth opportunities while protecting the bank’s assets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations within a corporate or banking environment is preferred.
  • Foundational proficiency in financial analysis, loan structuring, credit risk assessment, and portfolio management.
  • Foundational proficiency with data analysis tools, regulatory compliance, banking operations, and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical thinking, collaboration, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate data in BMO systems and make risk-informed decisions within approved policies and procedures.
