Credit Analyst Internship - Los Angeles/Newport Beach, CA (Summer 2027)

About the role

This summer 2027 Credit Analyst Intern supports commercial banking lending decisions through financial analysis, credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, and loan structuring in Los Angeles or Newport Beach. The role also supports client service, proposals, presentations, compliance, and portfolio growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis and calculations, prepare credit summaries, and make recommendations to the manager.
• Monitor portfolio performance, compliance, metrics, and industry trends to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
• Support new, renewal, and extension loan structures aligned with client needs and bank risk policies.
• Contribute to proposals and presentations, client relationships, service requests, and business development initiatives.
• Identify revenue, cross-selling, share-of-wallet, and portfolio growth opportunities while evaluating client returns.
• Maintain accurate system data and follow credit policies, regulatory standards, operational guidelines, and risk management requirements.

Requirements

• Foundational proficiency in financial analysis, loan structuring, data analysis tools, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, credit risk assessment, and banking operations.
• Foundational proficiency in Microsoft Office, problem solving, collaboration, detail orientation, and analytical thinking.
• Availability for the complete internship term, including onboarding, cohort activities, and the full program duration.
