Actuarial Analyst, Winter 2027 (Co-op/Internship) - 4 months

About the role

Four-month Winter 2027 actuarial co-op/internship in Toronto supporting regulatory and management reporting, actuarial calculations, model reviews, and risk portfolio analysis. The role assists with Appointed Actuary responsibilities, analyzes actuarial issues, develops insights, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute calculations and analysis supporting regulatory and management reporting.
• Extract and compile actuarial data for investment and risk portfolio reviews.
• Support calculations for the Appointed Actuary’s legal responsibilities and opinions.
• Review model outputs supporting liabilities, solvency, capital, and policyholder bonus recommendations.
• Analyze actuarial issues, product initiatives, economic capital, and financial business plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, provide recommendations, and support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an actuarial program and have completed three to four exams.
• Typically have one to four years of relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree.
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge gained through education or business experience.
• Bring strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrate in-depth analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
• Exercise judgment, work mostly independently, and propose creative solutions.
