BMO Capital Markets offers a Fall 2026 internship in Seattle supporting Middle Market M&A Business Development. Interns work 20 hours/week, gaining hands-on experience in deal origination and client relationship growth alongside senior bankers.

About the Team
- Advises founders, family businesses, and private equity sponsors on M&A transactions.
- Business Development focuses on sourcing opportunities and building referral relationships.
- Supports deal pipeline through client engagement and strategic growth initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance BD tracking systems including Salesforce and meeting logs.
- Research prospective clients and centers of influence like attorneys and wealth advisors.
- Build target lists and company profiles for sector-specific BD campaigns.
- Prepare meeting materials including briefs and tailored pitch content.
- Track and analyze industry events and support post-event follow-up.

Candidate Requirements
- Strong Excel skills and ability to organize data effectively.
- Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and time management.
- Interest in M&A, private capital markets, and relationship-driven business.
- Self-starter able to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
- Prior finance or banking exposure is a plus but not required.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with coursework in finance, economics, or accounting.
- 0-3 years relevant experience in investment or corporate banking.
- Proficient with financial applications and database management tools.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
