Finance Analyst, Winter 2027 (Co-op/Internship) - 4 Months

About the role

Four-month Winter 2027 finance analyst internship in Toronto supporting financial governance, accounting, period-end closing, reporting, audit activities, and process automation. The role involves analyzing financial results, preparing reports and reconciliations, working with stakeholders, and improving processes using Excel, SQL, and potentially Power BI or Python.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, analyze, and report financial performance for month-, quarter-, and year-end closing activities.
• Build regular and ad hoc reports and dashboards by gathering, formatting, and analyzing financial data.
• Support journal entries, reporting packages, financial statements, tax payments, and reconciliations under accounting standards.
• Provide information for internal and external audits and review supporting documentation, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Assist teams with process improvements, report automation, efficiency creation, and data extraction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and support strategic initiatives by tracking activities, metrics, and milestones.

Required Skills

• Education background in finance, commerce, accounting, or computer science.
• Previous experience focused on financial governance, audit, or accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA, macros, and pivot tables.
• SQL skills and the ability to prepare accurate, complete financial information.
• Good verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on execution.

• Power BI skills.
• Python skills.
• Experience with Workiva.
