Finance Analyst, Winter 2027 (Co-op/Internship) - 4 Months

About the role

Four-month Winter 2027 Finance Analyst co-op/internship in BMO’s Finance & Accounting function in Toronto. The role supports financial, regulatory, and management reporting, accounting processes, dashboards, controls, audits, data analysis, and process improvements. Candidates should have finance or accounting education and advanced Excel, presentation, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support financial, regulatory, and management reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual processes.
• Analyze data to provide financial, regulatory, and related risk insights and recommendations.
• Gather and format data into regular and ad hoc reports and dashboards.
• Support accounting processes, governance, controls, policy interpretation, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide information for internal Corporate and SOX audits and external audits.
• Identify variances, trends, opportunities, exposures, process improvements, and creative solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education in Finance or Accounting, with a related post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically one to two years of relevant experience and specialized knowledge from education or business experience.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, presentation-building, and process-improvement skills.
• In-depth verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
• Ability to organize information accurately, exercise judgment, and work mostly independently.
