About the role
Full-time internship in Hamburg supporting Berenberg’s Structured Real Estate Lending team for at least three months during Q4 2026. The role offers exposure to commercial property financing across asset classes and lifecycle stages, including transaction execution, financial modelling, credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support the financing process from analysing new-business requests through preparing credit proposals and assisting with closings.
- Help create cash-flow models, conduct risk analyses, and evaluate financing structures supporting credit decisions.
- Prepare presentations and monitor the existing real estate lending portfolio.
- Complete independent projects, including template improvements, market and competitor analyses, and database maintenance.
- Support the team in developing internal processes and workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Be enrolled in an advanced economics or law degree programme.
- Demonstrate strong interest in capital markets and the real estate industry.
- Work confidently with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bring an engaged, independent, and responsible working style.
- Have strong analytical skills, quick comprehension, communication ability, and team orientation.
