About the role
Internship in Berenberg’s Shipping Origination Team in Hamburg, supporting the sourcing and structuring of debt and equity investment opportunities for institutional investors and alternative capital providers. The role covers financial analysis, deal execution, investment materials, and shipping-market research, with exposure to senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination and structuring of shipping investment opportunities for institutional investors and alternative capital providers.
- Assist throughout deal processes, from origination through execution and syndication.
- Perform financial analysis using and enhancing discounted cash flow models.
- Prepare investment teasers, project reports, and other marketing materials.
- Conduct sector-specific research and prepare regular shipping-market updates.
Requirements
- Currently studying finance, economics, or business administration in an advanced stage.
- Previous internships in investment banking, consulting, or shipping are advantageous.
- Demonstrate independence on assigned tasks while seeking advice when appropriate.
- Bring curiosity, problem-solving ability, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Deliver high-quality work on time and communicate effectively in English.
