About the role

Ten-week summer internship in Barclays’ Client Data & Engineering Group, supporting data, analytics and AI projects across Markets, Banking and Technology. Interns analyse datasets, create dashboards and contribute to scalable tools and AI-enabled workflows while developing technical, commercial, communication and problem-solving skills through real project work, coaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyse client, business and market data to identify trends, opportunities and actionable insights.
• Build dashboards, visualisations, reports and analytical tools that improve information accessibility and usefulness.
• Contribute to data, analytics, AI and machine-learning solutions supporting workflow efficiency and insight generation.
• Improve data quality, consistency and governance across datasets used for reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with Banking, Markets, Technology and other stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
• Support scalable data platforms and analytical capabilities for client intelligence and business development activities.

Development and support

• Work on real projects from the first day of the programme with support from a mentor and line manager.
• Develop practical skills in data analysis, visualisation, AI-supported workflows and insight generation.
• Build communication skills by presenting analytical findings to varied audiences.
• Participate in training, coaching, professional development and continuous improvement activities.

• CDEG uses data, analytics and AI to generate insights about clients and business opportunities.
• The group develops data platforms and analytical capabilities supporting teams across Markets and Banking.
