About the role
This 10-week Barclays summer internship in Knutsford offers penultimate-year students graduating in 2028 hands-on software development experience. Interns help design, build, test, maintain, and improve systems, collaborate across teams, practise secure coding, and develop technical expertise through bespoke training within Barclays’ one-year Expert Programme.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and improve software supporting business, platform, and technology capabilities.
- Deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and unit testing to improve code quality, readability, and reliability.
- Apply secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
Eligibility and Work Authorization
- Applicants must be in their penultimate year of university and graduating in 2028.
- Candidates should demonstrate genuine interest in technology, strong problem-solving skills, and motivation to deliver innovative solutions.
- Barclays accepts applicants requiring UK visa sponsorship, subject to Skilled Worker visa eligibility criteria.
- Applicants without sponsorship eligibility must have the legal right to work full-time in the UK from June through August 2027.
