About the role
The Barclays Technology Developer Graduate Programme in Knutsford is a one-year expert programme focused on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software. Graduates receive job-based training while building technical expertise and solving complex problems using technologies such as Java, C++, C#, Python, SQL, cloud, DevOps, and machine learning.
Role and responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software supporting business, platform, and technology capabilities.
- Deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and performance-optimised software using industry-aligned tools and programming languages.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, unit testing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Apply secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
- Manage risks, follow relevant policies and controls, and escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately.
Programme details
- Join a one-year targeted expert programme providing depth and breadth of experience.
- Receive bespoke, job-based training from the start to develop specialist technical expertise.
- Work at Barclays’ Knutsford campus, located at the Radbroke Hall site.
Requirements
- Be a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate with a strong degree or expected degree.
- Have achieved, or expect to achieve, the degree before June 2027.
- Demonstrate genuine interest in technology and strong problem-solving skills.
- Show motivation and drive to deliver innovative software solutions.
- Develop technical expertise and communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.
Work eligibility and application
- Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship who meet Skilled Worker visa eligibility criteria.
- Applicants without sponsorship must have full-time UK work rights from August 2027 to August 2028.
