About the role

The one-year Technology Developer Graduate Programme in Glasgow offers targeted training and specialist development experience. You will design, build, test and maintain software used across Barclays, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply secure coding practices and solve complex problems using modern technologies.

Role and responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain scalable, maintainable and high-performing software solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality, readability and knowledge sharing.
• Apply secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Implement unit testing to support reliable software design and delivery.

Technology exposure

• Potential technologies include Java, C++, C#, Python, SQL, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• The role may also involve containers, DevOps, cloud, machine learning, scripting and real-time systems.
• Use engineering methodologies, programming languages, frameworks and tools to deliver business and technology capabilities.
