About the role

A 10-week Risk internship in Barclays’ London team, offering hands-on experience across risk monitoring, identification, management and decision support. Interns will conduct research, collaborate with business teams, use financial models and communicate findings to senior management while developing knowledge of credit, market, operational, climate and treasury risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the bank’s risk profile and identify or manage risks, including reviewing and challenging business propositions.
• Conduct small research projects supporting risk identification and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare presentations and reports communicating research findings to senior management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
• Use financial models and strategies to support risk management and decision-making.
• Manage business and client relationships with steadily decreasing supervision.

Programme Experience

• Gain hands-on experience through real projects during the 10-week summer internship.
• Develop understanding of Barclays’ products, services and associated risks across multiple business areas.
• Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Receive full support while building professional connections across Barclays.

Location and Work Eligibility

• The role is based in Barclays’ Canary Wharf hub in London.
• Successful graduate return offers will be based in the same location as the internship.
• Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship who meet skilled-worker visa eligibility criteria.
• Candidates unable to receive sponsorship must have full-time UK work rights from June through August 2027.
