About the role

Barclays’ Northampton Risk Analyst Higher Apprenticeship offers a permanent, full-time role while you work toward a Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship. You will monitor banking risks, support risk decisions using data and financial models, conduct research, and provide insights to senior colleagues. The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the bank’s risk profile, identify risks, and support risk management and decision-making activities.
• Conduct research projects, prepare reports, and present findings supporting risk identification and strategic decisions.
• Review and challenge business propositions while collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Use financial models and strategies to support risk decisions and strengthen controls within assigned responsibilities.
• Escalate policy breaches and deliver operational activities in line with procedures, regulations, and codes of conduct.

Training and support

• Work toward a Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship while earning a full-time salary in a permanent role.
• Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader, and specialist subject-matter expert.
• Participate in training and development programmes to build relevant risk knowledge and professional skills.

Application process

• Successful candidates attend an in-person assessment day involving a group activity and interview from October 2026.

Eligibility and requirements

• Minimum 104 A2 points, equivalent to grades BCC, or an equivalent qualification such as BTEC DMM.
• GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grades A*–C or 9–4, or equivalent qualifications.
• Meet applicable Government apprenticeship funding requirements, including the relevant three-year residence requirement, subject to exceptions.
• Have the legal right to work throughout the programme without gaps or reliance on future visa applications.
• Have no prior study, training, qualification, apprenticeship, relevant work-based learning, or funding causing ineligibility.
• Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, willingness to work hard, and readiness to develop professionally.
