2027 Risk Analyst Graduate Programme Glasgow

About the role

The two-year Barclays Risk Analyst Graduate Programme in Glasgow combines training with three eight-month rotations. You will monitor the bank’s risk profile, identify and manage risks, conduct research, use financial models, and provide insights supporting senior decisions. The role offers exposure to credit, market, operational, climate, and treasury risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the bank’s risk profile, identify and manage risks, and provide insights supporting informed senior decisions.
• Execute small research projects supporting risk identification and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare presentations and reports communicating findings to senior management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and manage relationships with decreasing supervision.
• Review and challenge business propositions, using financial models and strategies to support risk decisions.
• Strengthen controls, escalate policy breaches, and embed procedures introduced for risk mitigation.

Programme and Work Environment

• Join a two-year Explorer Programme comprising three eight-month rotations.
• Receive bespoke, job-based training from the start, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Build understanding of Barclays’ products, services, and credit, market, operational, climate, and treasury risks.
• Work at Barclays’ Glasgow campus, with collaborative spaces and hybrid working opportunities.
• The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2029.

Requirements and Eligibility

• Have a strong degree, or expect to achieve one, before June 2027.
• Bring analytical curiosity, sound judgement, and the ability to use data and insight to understand risk.
• Make detailed, evidence-based judgements and communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.
• Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants; others need full-time UK work rights from August 2027 to August 2029.
