2027 Retail, Business and Customer Banking Summer Internship Programme London

About the role

A 10-week London-based summer internship in Barclays’ Retail, Business and Customer Banking division. Interns will contribute to research, product development, customer service, business initiatives and financial modelling while receiving training, mentoring and feedback. The programme is intended for penultimate-year students graduating in 2028, with potential progression to a graduate programme.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions in retail banking.
• Prepare presentations and reports communicating research findings.
• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams on business initiatives.
• Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product launches.
• Support customer relationships, transactions, product enquiries and complaint resolution.
• Contribute to financial models and strategies supporting retail banking decisions.

Programme Support

• Participate in tailored training and development programmes.
• Build relationships with peers, leaders and mentors across Barclays.
• Receive feedback and opportunities to expand your professional network.
• Take part in volunteering activities during the internship.

Location and Work Authorisation

• The internship is based in London, at Barclays’ Canary Wharf hub.
• The internship runs from June 2027 to August 2027.
• Barclays accepts applicants requiring UK visa sponsorship, subject to eligibility criteria.
• Applicants without sponsorship eligibility must have full-time UK work rights for the internship period.
• Any graduate return offer would be based at the same location as the internship.
