About the role

Join Barclays’ permanent, full-time Customer Care Apprenticeship in Manchester, earning £25,200 plus benefits while working towards a Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser Apprenticeship. You’ll respond to customer enquiries, resolve issues and support customers through important financial moments, with structured support and practical workplace experience from August 2027 to August 2029.

Role and responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to enquiries, resolving issues and supporting customers through financial moments.
  • Manage customer relationships, answer product and service questions, process transactions and resolve complaints with decreasing supervision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to support customer service, operational and business initiatives.
  • Follow procedures, escalate policy breaches and manage risks, controls, regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Build stakeholder relationships, identify customer needs and handle sensitive issues appropriately.

Training and support

  • Work towards a Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser Apprenticeship while earning a full-time salary.
  • Combine theoretical learning with practical workplace experience in a permanent Barclays role.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader and specialist subject expert.
  • Participate in training and development activities to build relevant skills and knowledge.

Eligibility requirements

  • Have five GCSEs at grades A*–C or 9–5, including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Meet the applicable Government apprenticeship funding requirements for England, including the three-year residence requirement subject to exceptions.
  • Have the legal right to work for the entire programme, from August 2027 through August 2029.
  • Have no gaps in work authorisation or dependence on future visa applications during the apprenticeship.
  • Not have prior study, training, qualifications, apprenticeships, work-based learning or funding that affects apprenticeship eligibility.
  • Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm, with readiness to work hard and develop professionally.

Application process

  • Applications are reviewed before candidates complete online assessments and an eligibility survey.
  • Successful candidates attend an in-person assessment day involving a group activity and interview.
  • Assessment days are scheduled to take place from October 2026.
  • Applications close on 25 September 2026, although the vacancy may close earlier due to application volumes.
