About the role

Barclays’ London Business Banking Degree Apprenticeship is a permanent, full-time role supporting small and medium-sized business customers while completing a Financial Services Professional Degree Apprenticeship. Apprentices earn £25,200 plus benefits, receive structured support and practical experience, and develop skills in customer service, research, product initiatives, financial models and risk controls.

Role responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day Business Banking activities, providing insights for decisions, products, services and market opportunities.
  • Conduct research projects, prepare reports and presentations, and collaborate with senior management on findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop business cases, and support product deployment and launches.
  • Manage client relationships, answer product questions, process transactions and resolve customer complaints.
  • Support financial models and strategies while managing risks, controls and policy breach escalations.
  • Complete prescribed activities, build stakeholder relationships, follow procedures, and train or mentor junior colleagues.

Programme and support

  • Work permanently and full-time while earning a salary and studying toward a Financial Services Professional Degree Apprenticeship.
  • The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader and specialist subject expert.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to build relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Business Banking supports customers and more than one million small and medium-sized businesses.

Application process

  • Barclays reviews applications before inviting eligible candidates to complete online assessments.
  • Candidates complete an eligibility survey after the online assessment stage.
  • In-person assessment days include a group activity and interview from October 2026.
  • Successful and unsuccessful candidates receive an outcome and feedback.
  • Applications may close early if application volumes are high.
