About the role

Join Barclays’ Manchester Business Banking Apprenticeship, combining a permanent, full-time role with study toward a Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser Apprenticeship. You’ll support small and medium-sized businesses, develop customer-service and banking skills, and receive salary, structured support, practical experience, and a professional qualification.

Role and responsibilities

  • Support business banking customers and small and medium-sized businesses with financial tools, guidance, and services.
  • Manage customer relationships, answer product and service questions, process transactions, and resolve complaints with decreasing supervision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on business initiatives, research, presentations, reports, products, services, and market opportunities.
  • Complete prescribed activities accurately and on time, while managing risks, controls, policies, regulations, and conduct requirements.
  • Build stakeholder relationships, identify customer needs, and escalate policy breaches or sensitive issues when required.

Development and support

  • Work toward a Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser Apprenticeship while gaining practical experience in a permanent role.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader, and specialist subject-matter expert.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to enhance banking, customer service, operational, and professional skills.

Application process

  • Barclays will review applications before inviting eligible candidates to complete online assessments.
  • Candidates will complete an eligibility survey before attending an in-person assessment day from October 2026.
  • The assessment day includes a group activity and interview; Barclays will provide the outcome and feedback.
