About the role

Join Barclays’ Quantitative Analytics Associate Graduate Programme in London, developing quantitative models, analytical methods and technology supporting markets, finance, treasury, fraud surveillance, climate risk and credit risk. After several weeks of intensive training, you’ll join a specialist team, collaborate on active projects and contribute to pricing, trading processes and risk management.

Programme and Training

  • Complete several weeks of intensive training covering product, business knowledge and essential professional skills.
  • Join a specific desk after training and collaborate with colleagues on active quantitative analytics projects.
  • Work with specialised teams supporting markets, finance, treasury, fraud surveillance, climate risk and credit risk.

Potential Teams

  • Markets Quants develop, test, implement and support models for pricing, valuation adjustments and market risk management.
  • Statistical Modelling Quants develop statistical, econometric and machine learning models for forecasting, credit, operational and climate risk.
  • Partner with trading, structuring, risk management, Finance, Treasury, Fraud Surveillance and other bank functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies supporting decision-making, pricing and risk management.
  • Research market trends and analyse data using advanced methodologies and technologies to drive innovation.
  • Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, integrating features that improve reliability and user experience.
  • Collaborate with traders, sales teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
  • Resolve system issues with compliance, IT and strategy teams while continuously improving trading infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Completed or currently pursuing a postgraduate qualification, Master’s degree or higher in a technical discipline.
  • Relevant disciplines include Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science or another STEM subject.
  • Demonstrate mathematical, programming, logical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming experience in C++ or Python is advantageous.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Show an interest in banking, financial services and capital markets.

Work Eligibility

  • Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship and may provide a Skilled Worker visa subject to eligibility.
  • Candidates without sponsorship eligibility must have full-time UK work rights from February or August 2027 through August 2028.
