About the role

Join Barclays’ one-year Quantitative Analytics Expert Programme in London, focusing on Risk Quantitative Analytics. You will develop statistical, AI and coding-based models and tools for financial risk, collaborate across risk, finance, markets and technology, and gain bespoke training, mentoring and exposure to trading and risk-management decisions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop quantitative models and strategies supporting decision-making, pricing and financial risk management.
  • Build and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, improving reliability and user experience.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to identify market trends and support innovation.
  • Collaborate with traders, sales, Risk and Finance stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions.
  • Work with compliance, IT and strategy teams to resolve issues and improve trading infrastructure.

Programme and Development

  • Join a targeted, fast-track Expert Programme providing depth and breadth of experience.
  • Complete bespoke, job-based training from the start to develop specialist technical expertise.
  • Receive challenging projects, feedback, mentoring and networking opportunities with colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Develop technical knowledge, business acumen and leadership skills through practical assignments.

Requirements

  • Be a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate with a strong degree completed before June 2027.
  • Demonstrate strong mathematical and programming skills, logical thinking and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Communicate effectively when working with colleagues across risk, finance, markets and technology.
  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python is ideally preferred.

Work Authorisation and Application

  • Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship, subject to Skilled Worker visa eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates without sponsorship eligibility must have full-time UK work authorisation from August 2027 to August 2028.
  • The London role is based at Barclays’ Canary Wharf global headquarters.
