About the role

Ten-week Operations Analyst Summer Internship in London for penultimate-year students graduating in 2028. Interns gain hands-on experience across banking operations, supporting transaction monitoring, KYC, reconciliations, incident management and process improvement while developing operational expertise and contributing to accurate, timely service delivery across investment, corporate and retail banking.

Responsibilities

• Perform KYC tasks in line with Client Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
• Monitor transaction flows, trade updates and exception queues for timely, accurate trade representation.
• Address incident, problem and change management issues to improve services across the bank.
• Support operational process improvement, best-practice development and systems enhancement initiatives.
• Support cleared derivatives activities, reconcile related fees daily and process customer and product activities.
• Provide insights supporting decisions, new products and services, and market opportunity identification.

Role expectations

• Complete prescribed activities promptly and to consistently high standards while supporting continuous improvement.
• Partner with related teams and business functions, communicating complex or sensitive information clearly.
• Analyze factual information carefully, resolve problems using technical experience and follow established precedents.
• Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately and embed policies introduced for risk mitigation.
• Take ownership of risks and controls while following applicable rules, regulations and codes of conduct.

Eligibility and work authorization

• Applicants must be in their penultimate year of university and graduating in 2028.
• The role is based in London; any successful graduate return offer will retain the internship location.
• Barclays accepts applicants requiring UK visa sponsorship, subject to Skilled Worker visa eligibility.
• Applicants without sponsorship eligibility need their own full-time UK work authorization from June to August 2027.
