About the role

Permanent, full-time Operations Analyst apprenticeship in Glasgow, offering a £25,200 annual salary plus benefits. You’ll work across banking operations, supporting KYC, transaction monitoring, reconciliations, incident management, process improvement and risk controls while earning a Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship qualification.

Role and responsibilities

  • Perform KYC tasks in line with Client Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
  • Monitor transaction flows, trade updates and exception queues for accurate, timely system representation.
  • Address incident, problem and change-management issues to improve services across the bank.
  • Support operational process improvements, best-practice development and ideas for improving systems and procedures.
  • Support cleared derivatives activities, including daily fee reconciliations and complex customer and product processing.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and operational knowledge.

Working approach

  • Deliver operational excellence and customer service for stakeholders and customers.
  • Complete prescribed activities accurately, promptly and according to established procedures.
  • Manage risks, strengthen controls and escalate policy breaches where required.
  • Build stakeholder and customer relationships, addressing needs and handling sensitive issues appropriately.
  • Make judgements using factual information and select suitable alternatives from defined options.
  • Collaborate with team members while understanding how the wider function operates.

Programme and support

  • Earn a Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship qualification while working in a permanent, full-time role.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader and specialist subject expert.
  • The apprenticeship combines theoretical learning with practical workplace experience and includes training programmes.
  • The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031.

Eligibility

  • Applicants need SQA Highers at ABBB or an equivalent qualification.
  • Applicants must meet applicable Scottish Government apprenticeship funding requirements, including residence requirements subject to exceptions.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work throughout the programme without gaps or reliance on future visa applications.
  • Applicants must be residing in Scotland from 1 August 2027.
  • Previous study, training, qualifications, relevant prior learning or funding may affect apprenticeship funding eligibility.
  • Barclays seeks applicants demonstrating commitment, enthusiasm, hard work and willingness to challenge themselves.
