About the role

Barclays offers a permanent, full-time Compliance Analyst apprenticeship in Glasgow, combining practical compliance and risk-management experience with study toward a Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship. The role involves regulatory advice, data-led monitoring, risk insight and stakeholder training. Apprentices receive a salary, structured support and an opportunity to gain a professional qualification without student-loan costs.

Role focus

  • Gain compliance and risk-management skills while delivering services to Barclays businesses and functions.
  • Help the business follow its Compliance risk-management framework and meet regulatory expectations.
  • Develop understanding of laws, rules, regulations, financial crime and conduct risks.

Responsibilities

  • Advise colleagues about regulations affecting specific products and services.
  • Use data and analytics to monitor and influence the Compliance risk landscape.
  • Provide compliance risk insight and train business stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate policy breaches, strengthening controls within owned areas of responsibility.
  • Build stakeholder and customer relationships while handling sensitive issues and supporting operational execution.

Programme and support

  • Work full-time in a permanent role while studying toward a Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader and specialist subject-matter expert.
  • Earn a professional qualification while gaining practical work experience without student-loan costs.

Eligibility

  • Hold SQA Highers at BBBB or an equivalent qualification.
  • Meet applicable Government apprentice funding requirements, including the three-year residence requirement, subject to exceptions.
  • Have the legal right to work throughout the programme without gaps or reliance on future visa applications.
  • Reside in Scotland from 1 August 2027.
  • Have no previous study, training, qualifications, apprenticeship, relevant prior learning or funding making you ineligible.
  • Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, willingness to work hard and openness to developing new capabilities.

Application process

  • Candidates complete an eligibility survey before attending an in-person assessment day.
  • The assessment day includes a group activity and interview, taking place from October 2026.
