About the role
This 9–11-month London industrial placement supports early-careers recruitment across intern, graduate and apprenticeship pathways. You will manage campus recruiting activities, stakeholder relationships, attraction strategies and assessment processes, gaining exposure to clients and leaders across the Investment Bank. Some travel is required, with placement beginning in August 2027.
Responsibilities
- Execute regional candidate acquisition activities across intern, graduate and apprenticeship recruitment channels.
- Coordinate campus, recruitment and school events with business stakeholders and Early Careers Planning teams.
- Deliver attraction and assessment strategies aligned with firm and individual pathway objectives.
- Build stakeholder relationships and engage partners in agreed early-careers recruitment strategies.
- Use data analysis and university knowledge to improve candidate attraction activities.
- Execute assessment processes supporting effective sourcing for individualised early-careers programmes.
Additional Activities
- Conduct small research projects supporting strategic decision-making and prepare presentations or reports on findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and implement research findings.
- Develop HR insights, colleague journeys, services and measures while building knowledge of Barclays’ businesses.
- Support the identification of opportunities and development of business cases for new HR products and services.
Requirements
- Be in the penultimate year of university and graduating in 2028.
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Be willing to travel as required for recruitment activities and events.
- Demonstrate strong verbal, written, group communication and presentation skills.
- Show creativity in improving the quality of the candidate experience.
- Be proactive, adaptable, organised and able to prioritise and multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to think quickly and resolve real-time challenges effectively.
- Ability to escalate issues quickly and appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience in financial services, eagerness to succeed or intellectual curiosity.
Location and Timing
- Based in Barclays’ London hub in Canary Wharf.
- Applications close on 25 September 2026, although the vacancy may close earlier.
- The industrial placement begins in August 2027 and lasts nine to eleven months.
- Some travel is required for campus, recruitment and school events.
