About the role

Join Barclays’ 10-week UK Corporate Banking Summer Internship in London during summer 2027. You will gain foundational banking knowledge, support corporate clients, contribute to research and business initiatives, and develop relationship and technical skills through real projects, mentorship, training, and collaboration across banking divisions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support client relationships, customer service, product and service queries, and transaction processing under decreasing supervision.
  • Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions, then prepare presentations and reports communicating findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on UK Corporate Banking business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support the launch of new products and services.
  • Provide insights that help senior colleagues make client-focused decisions and identify market opportunities.

Programme Experience

  • Receive an overview of finance, technology, banking, and the UK economy through practical project work.
  • Gain exposure to everyday banking, corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, and environmental, social and governance planning.
  • Build relationship management and technical skills while working with sector and regional banking specialists.
  • Participate in training and development programmes with guidance from a mentor and line manager.

Requirements

  • Currently studying in the penultimate year of a degree in any discipline.
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and business is desirable.
  • Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit are valued.

Work Authorisation

  • Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship, subject to Skilled Worker visa eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates unable to obtain sponsorship must hold full-time UK work rights from June through August 2027.
