About the role

Join Barclays’ International Corporate Banking team in London for a 10-week summer internship in 2027. You will support client relationships, lending, trade finance and cash-management solutions while developing credit analysis, financial modelling, treasury product and deal-execution skills alongside experienced bankers.

Responsibilities

• Support relationship teams with client queries, onboarding, and proposals for cash management, trade finance, and lending.
• Identify and manage opportunities within Global Treasury Coverage alongside senior bankers.
• Prepare meeting materials, research sector themes, and collaborate with teams across the Investment Bank.
• Support end-to-end deal processes, including credit analysis, financial modelling, committees, and documentation.
• Identify new products and services, develop business cases, and support sustainability- and growth-focused initiatives.
• Embed risk controls, follow policies, and escalate breaches appropriately.

Team and Programme

• Work with global clients and senior bankers in a supportive, collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Gain exposure to lending, trade finance, cash management, liquidity, digital banking, and hedging solutions.
• Participate in structured learning covering credit skills, client management, and treasury coverage products.
• Develop through real projects, mentorship, feedback, and continuous improvement.

Eligibility and Work Authorisation

• Applicants must be in the penultimate year of a degree in any discipline.
• The role is based in London, with the programme taking place during summer 2027.
• Barclays accepts candidates requiring UK visa sponsorship who meet skilled-worker visa eligibility criteria.
• Those without sponsorship eligibility must have full-time UK work rights from June to August 2027.
