About the role
A 3–6-month Paris internship in Barclays Global Transaction Banking, supporting payment solutions, product management, research and client service. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders, contribute to strategic initiatives and learn how transaction banking supports corporate and commercial clients, with potential preparation for a future Corporate Banking career.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions, and prepare presentations and reports communicating findings.
- Support development of payment solutions and end-to-end product management, including risk controls.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product and service launches.
- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams on Transaction Banking initiatives.
- Support client relationships, answer product questions, process transactions and provide customer service.
- Follow procedures, manage risks, strengthen controls and escalate policy breaches when required.
Team and Exposure
- Work within Global Transaction Banking, serving corporates, financial institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, sales, operations, technology, compliance and legal.
- Gain exposure to products, sectors, markets, regulatory environments and global corporate value chains.
- Work with Transaction Banking experts and stakeholders, including technology and service partners.
Programme Details
- Participate in training and development programmes to enhance relevant skills and knowledge.
- Perform assigned tasks with decreasing supervision, focusing on quality execution and customer needs.
- No people leadership responsibilities are included at this grade.
- The role is based in Paris, and a future graduate-programme base location would remain the same.
Candidate Profile
- Be in the penultimate or final year of a degree in any discipline.
- Demonstrate fluent English and French language skills.
- Show an interest in finance and business, supported by relevant experience or activities.
- Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit are valued.
