About the role
Ten-week London summer internship within Barclays’ Investment Bank Sustainable Finance team. Interns gain exposure to sustainability topics and sustainable finance while supporting live deals, client pitches, business initiatives, product development, stakeholder engagement, and financial modelling. The programme is designed for students in the penultimate year of any degree and includes mentoring, training, and immediate responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Support live deals, client pitches, and Banking teams advising on sustainable finance opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Sustainable Finance business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product and service launches.
- Develop and implement financial models and strategies supporting Sustainable Finance decision-making.
- Participate in internal and external stakeholder engagement related to Sustainable Finance.
- Gain broad exposure to sustainability topics, strategies, and sustainable finance activities.
Team and development
- Join the Central Sustainable Finance team supporting Barclays’ sustainable finance strategy and initiatives.
- Receive guidance from a mentor and line manager while taking on immediate responsibility.
- Participate in training and development programmes to build relevant skills and knowledge.
- Build an understanding of business operations and learn from industry experts.
