About the role
A permanent, full-time London apprenticeship in Barclays’ UK Corporate Banking division. You will support corporate client relationships, research, operational activities, product development and business initiatives while earning a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship qualification. The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031 and includes a salary of £25,200 plus benefits.
Role and responsibilities
- Manage client relationships and provide customer service support, including product enquiries and transaction processing.
- Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions, then prepare presentations and reports communicating findings.
- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams on UK Corporate Banking initiatives.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support deployment and launch of new products and services.
- Perform operational activities accurately, follow procedures, escalate policy breaches, and strengthen controls within assigned responsibilities.
- Build stakeholder and customer relationships while handling sensitive issues and supporting smooth operational processes.
Training and support
- Work towards a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship while gaining practical experience in a permanent, full-time role.
- Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader, and specialist subject-matter expert.
- Develop understanding of your role, team objectives, related teams, procedures, regulations, and codes of conduct.
Eligibility and requirements
- Have three A-levels at BBB or equivalent qualifications.
- Have GCSE Mathematics at grade 6 and GCSE English Language at grade 4.
- Meet applicable Government apprenticeship funding requirements for apprentices in England or Scotland.
- Have three years’ residence, subject to applicable exceptions, under Government apprenticeship funding requirements.
- Have legal right to work for the full programme duration, without gaps or dependence on future visa applications.
- Must not have prior study, training, qualifications, relevant learning, competence, funding, or financial support creating ineligibility.
Working arrangements
- The role is based in Barclays’ London hub in Canary Wharf.
- The programme is open to school leavers and career changers, regardless of background or age.
- The role involves no people leadership responsibilities at this grade.
