About the role

Leeds-based, permanent full-time apprenticeship in Barclays’ UK Corporate Banking division. You will earn £25,200 plus benefits while completing a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship, supporting client relationships, research, transactions, business initiatives, and product opportunities. The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031 and includes structured support from experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Support client relationships, customer service, product and service queries, and transaction processing.
  • Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions; prepare presentations and reports, and help implement findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support UK Corporate Banking business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product and service launches.
  • Complete prescribed activities on time and to a high standard, following established procedures.
  • Manage risks, strengthen controls, escalate policy breaches, and follow relevant rules and regulations.

Programme and Training

  • Join a permanent, full-time role with a salary from the first day of employment.
  • Work towards a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship while gaining practical banking experience.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader, and specialist subject expert.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to build relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Develop understanding of your role, team objectives, and how other functional teams operate.

Eligibility

  • Hold three A-levels at BBB, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Have GCSE Mathematics at grade 6 and GCSE English Language at grade 4.
  • Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, willingness to work hard, and readiness to challenge yourself.
  • Meet applicable Government apprenticeship funding requirements for apprentices in England.
  • Meet the three-year residence requirement, subject to applicable exceptions.
  • Have the legal right to work throughout the programme without visa gaps or future application dependency.

  • Do not have previous study, training, qualifications, apprenticeship, relevant prior learning, or funding that creates ineligibility.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and customers, handling sensitive issues when required.
  • Make judgements using factual information and select appropriate options within defined procedures.
