About the role

Join Barclays’ permanent, full-time UK Corporate Banking apprenticeship in Birmingham, supporting corporate client relationships, research, presentations, product initiatives, and operational execution. Earn £25,200 plus benefits while working toward a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship. The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031 and is open to school leavers and career changers.

Role

  • Support the day-to-day activities of UK Corporate Banking and provide insights for client-focused decisions.
  • Manage client relationships, answer product and service queries, provide customer support, and process transactions.
  • Contribute to new product development, market opportunity identification, and business case preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Complete research projects supporting strategic decisions, then prepare presentations and reports communicating findings.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to implement research findings and business initiatives.
  • Deliver operational tasks accurately, manage risks and controls, and escalate policy breaches when required.
  • Build stakeholder and customer relationships while handling sensitive issues and supporting smooth operations.

Programme And Support

  • Work full-time in a permanent role while earning a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship qualification.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader, and specialist subject-matter expert.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to build relevant skills and knowledge.

Eligibility

  • Achieve three A-levels at BBB or equivalent.
  • Have GCSE Mathematics at grade 6 and GCSE English Language at grade 4.
  • Meet applicable UK Government apprenticeship funding requirements, including the relevant residence requirement.
  • Have the legal right to work throughout the programme without gaps or reliance on future visa applications.
  • Have no prior study, training, qualifications, apprenticeship, relevant learning, or funding that creates ineligibility.
  • Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, willingness to work hard, and readiness to develop professionally.
