About the role

A permanent, full-time London apprenticeship in Barclays’ Global Transaction Banking division. You will support research, strategic decisions, client relationships, payment solutions and product development while earning a salary and completing a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship. The programme offers practical experience across corporate and commercial banking from August 2027 to August 2031.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research projects supporting strategic decisions, presentations and reports for Transaction Banking.
  • Support payment-solution development, product management, risk controls, business cases and product launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including banking, sales, operations, technology, compliance and legal.
  • Manage client relationships, answer product questions, process transactions and provide customer service support.
  • Identify and escalate policy breaches while managing risks and strengthening controls within assigned responsibilities.

Team and Development

  • Work with Transaction Banking experts serving corporates, financial institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to build financial services knowledge and professional skills.
  • Receive support from a Programme Support Manager, People Leader and specialist subject-matter expert.
  • Build networks across Barclays and gain exposure to products, sectors, markets and regulatory environments.

Programme Details

  • Permanent, full-time employment in Barclays’ London hub in Canary Wharf.
  • Work towards a Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship while receiving a full-time salary.
  • The programme runs from August 2027 to August 2031.

Eligibility

  • Three A-levels at grades BBB, or equivalent qualifications.
  • GCSE Mathematics at grade 6 and GCSE English Language at grade 4.
  • Meet applicable Government apprenticeship funding requirements for apprentices in England.
  • Meet the three-year residence requirement, subject to applicable exceptions.
  • Have the legal right to work throughout the programme without relying on future visa applications.
  • Must not have prior study, training, qualifications, apprenticeship funding or experience affecting funding eligibility.
