About the role
Join Barclays’ 10-week Technology Developer Summer Internship in Wilmington, developing software that supports banking platforms, customers, and colleagues. You’ll work on real projects, collaborate with technical and product teams, apply secure engineering practices, and learn from industry experts while exploring machine learning, generative AI, and fintech.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized solutions supporting business, platform, and technology capabilities.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews while promoting code quality, knowledge sharing, and effective collaboration.
- Apply secure coding practices and unit testing to improve software reliability and protect sensitive data.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Be graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 and be in your penultimate year.
- Have a GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Have a strong foundation in computer science or a related field.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for programming languages, development tools, and systems architecture.
- Solve complex problems, design scalable solutions, and connect business needs with technology.
- Employment-based immigration sponsorship is unavailable except under the stated STEM OPT-related eligibility conditions.
Program and Location
- Work for 10 weeks on meaningful technology projects with hands-on experience and real responsibilities.
- Based at Barclays’ revitalized Wilmington, Delaware campus near the Wilmington train station and Christina River.
