2027 Technology Cyber & Security Summer Internship Program Whippany

About the role

A 10-week Barclays summer internship in Whippany, New Jersey, supporting the Chief Security Office. Interns gain hands-on experience through real projects, collaborate across Cyber and Security teams, and help protect the bank, clients, customers, and colleagues from evolving threats while developing technology and cybersecurity expertise.

Program Focus

• Support Cyber and Physical Security, Resilience, Crisis Management, Security Operations, Intelligence, and related teams.
• Help protect the bank, clients, customers, and colleagues from external and internal threats.
• Gain exposure to proactive threat research and reactive incident response activities.
• Partner across the bank to minimise disruption and support rapid service recovery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experts to reduce risk, protect customers and clients, and support high-quality business services.
• Identify opportunities to improve agility and develop an intelligence-led approach to security delivery.
• Support cross-functional business projects and initiatives.
• Analyse factual information, resolve problems, and communicate complex or sensitive information.
• Manage risks, strengthen controls, escalate policy breaches, and support implementation of new procedures.

Eligibility

• Graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2.
• Demonstrate interest in or hands-on experience with cybersecurity or a technology-related field.
• Visa sponsorship is unavailable unless the individual meets the stated qualifying STEM-study conditions.
