About the role

A 10-week Barclays Risk Analyst Summer Internship in Wilmington, Delaware, offering hands-on experience across risk monitoring, identification, management, research, and decision support. Interns work with cross-functional teams, develop technical skills, and contribute to reports, presentations, financial models, and risk-related business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research projects supporting risk identification and strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations and reports communicating findings to senior management.
  • Identify and manage risks, including reviewing and challenging business propositions.
  • Support risk decisions using financial models and strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage business and client relationships.
  • Strengthen controls, escalate policy breaches, and support risk mitigation procedures.

Program and Location

  • The internship lasts 10 weeks and is based in Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Participate in training and development programs to build relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Work at Barclays’ revitalized Wilmington campus on the Christina River waterfront.
  • A successful return offer will have the same location as the internship.
  • Visa sponsorship is unavailable except for eligible STEM degree holders meeting STEM OPT requirements.

Eligibility and Skills

  • Applicants must be in their penultimate year of study.
  • Applicants must graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Coursework or experience with Python, R, SQL, SAS, Power BI, Databricks, or another data programming language is required.
  • Risk Management or a related field of study is preferred.
  • Resourcefulness, teamwork, energy, leadership, extracurricular involvement, or side projects are valued.
