About the role
Join Barclays’ two-year Risk Analyst Explorer Program in Wilmington, supporting risk monitoring, identification, management, and decision-making across banking operations. You will complete three eight-month rotations, conduct research, use financial models and data tools, collaborate with teams, and develop expertise while contributing to informed decisions and stronger controls.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the bank’s risk profile, identify risks, and support risk management across products, services, and business areas.
- Conduct research projects and prepare presentations and reports communicating findings to senior management.
- Review and challenge business propositions, supporting risk decisions through financial models and strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage business and client relationships with decreasing supervision.
- Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately and help embed risk-mitigation policies and procedures.
- Take ownership of risks, strengthen controls, and deliver work in line with relevant rules and regulations.
Program Structure and Training
- Complete a two-year Explorer Program designed to provide depth and breadth of experience.
- Undertake three eight-month rotations across relevant risk areas.
- Receive bespoke, job-based training from the start of the program.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Hold or expect to achieve a strong degree before June 2027.
- Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Complete coursework in, or have experience with, Python, R, SQL, SAS, Power BI, Databricks, or another data programming language.
Preferred Profile
- Studies in Risk Management or a related field are preferred.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness, teamwork, energy, and an entrepreneurial approach.
- Show entrepreneurial spirit through extracurricular activities, side projects, or leadership roles.
