About the role

Join Barclays’ one-year Quantitative Analytics Graduate Program in New York as a Risk Quantitative Analytics graduate. You will develop quantitative models, statistical tools, and risk systems using mathematical modelling, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and programming to support valuation, risk management, trading, and business decisions.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop quantitative models and strategies supporting decision-making, pricing, and risk management.
  • Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems.
  • Research market trends and apply advanced analytical methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Markets, Technology, traders, and sales teams.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical tools and customized solutions.
  • Resolve system issues and improve trading infrastructure with cross-functional teams.

Program and development

  • Join a one-year targeted, fast-track Expert Program offering breadth and depth of experience.
  • Complete bespoke, job-based training from the start of the program.
  • Develop specialist technical expertise, business understanding, and leadership skills.
  • Receive feedback, support, mentoring, and networking opportunities with colleagues and senior leaders.

Eligibility and technical skills

  • Have completed or be completing a postgraduate degree, such as a master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Achieve a GPA of 3.4 or above.
  • Study a technical discipline including mathematics, quantitative finance, statistics, physics, economics, computer science, or machine learning.
  • Demonstrate strong mathematical and programming skills, ideally using C++ or Python.
  • Have financial knowledge involving financial instruments, asset simulation, or pricing models.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively while delivering solutions at pace.
