About the role

The 10-week Barclays Operations Analyst Summer Internship in Whippany, New Jersey, offers penultimate-year students hands-on experience supporting banking operations. Interns contribute to transaction monitoring, KYC, reconciliations, incident management, and process improvement while developing technical, analytical, stakeholder communication, and operational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform KYC tasks under Client Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
  • Monitor transaction flows, trade updates, and exception queues for accurate, timely system representation.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management activities across banking services.
  • Identify improvements to operational systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Reconcile cleared derivatives fees and process complex customer and product-related activities.
  • Support operational insights that inform decisions, products, services, and market opportunities.

Development and Location

  • Participate in training and development programs to build relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Work at Barclays’ Whippany, New Jersey, location throughout the internship.
  • A successful return offer would be based at the same location as the internship.

Eligibility and Skills

  • Applicants must graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • The program is intended for students in their penultimate year.
  • Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Candidates should be comfortable using technology, analysing data, and presenting insights to stakeholders.
  • Candidates should be interested in innovation and improving existing processes.
