About the role
Barclays’ Houston Banking Analyst Summer Internship offers exposure to investment banking teams, live deals and proposals, and corporate-client advisory work. Interns may support financial analysis, modeling, valuation, research, due diligence and written materials while receiving training, mentorship and immediate responsibilities across industry, product or geographic groups.
Program Details
- Ten-week summer internship based in Barclays’ Houston office.
- Work with industry, product or geographic investment banking groups.
- Receive training, development support, and guidance from a mentor and line manager.
- Gain exposure to different clients, transactions and specialist investment banking areas.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on live deals and client pitches supporting advice to corporate clients.
- Perform financial analysis, modeling, valuation, industry research and client due diligence.
- Prepare written materials, including offering memoranda and new business presentations.
- Support cross-functional business initiatives and develop financial models and strategies for decision-making.
- Identify opportunities and support business cases, product development, deployment and launch activities.
- Manage client relationships, answer product and service questions, and process transactions under decreasing supervision.
Requirements
- Be motivated, curious and studying toward an eligible degree; the description references both penultimate-year and final-year students.
- Have a keen interest in business and finance, alongside curiosity to learn.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- A GPA of 3.2 or above is preferred.
- Extracurricular involvement may demonstrate relevant qualities and interests.
