About the role

Join Barclays in Paris for a 3–6-month Sales, Trading and Structuring Off-Cycle Internship. Receive intensive training, work alongside markets professionals, research products and industries, monitor markets, analyse data, support client activity, and gain deeper exposure to global markets and project-based work than a summer internship.

Responsibilities

  • Research industries and products, summarising findings for the desk and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor markets, analyse fundamental and technical data, and help formulate trade ideas.
  • Prepare presentations and reports communicating research findings to colleagues and senior management.
  • Support client meetings, calls, product enquiries, customer service, and transaction processing under supervision.
  • Contribute to financial models, business cases, product development, and new service launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on global markets initiatives and business projects.

Programme And Training

  • Begin with intensive training designed to develop essential markets knowledge and practical skills.
  • Complete desk assignments within a structured programme combining project-based work and day-to-day activities.
  • Build communication, quantitative, analytical, and global markets skills through deeper project exposure.
  • Participate in training and development programmes throughout the internship.

Markets Environment

  • Work in Barclays’ Markets division, providing insights supporting client opportunities, risk management, returns, and financing solutions.
  • Gain exposure to market insights, execution services, tailored risk management, and financing solutions for institutional investors.
  • Attend client meetings or calls with traders, salespeople, and research colleagues.
  • Work in Barclays’ Paris office, serving local and global investment banking clients.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently studying in the penultimate or final year of a degree in any discipline.
  • Demonstrate fluent English; French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Dutch is desirable.
  • Show interest in business or finance and curiosity to learn about global markets.
  • Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, entrepreneurial spirit, and extracurricular involvement are valued.
