About the role

Join Barclays’ 2027 Paris graduate programme in Sales, Trading and Structuring. After intensive initial training, you will begin as a salesperson or trader on a specific desk, developing global-markets knowledge and communication, quantitative and analytical skills. You will support clients, monitor markets, generate ideas, price products, analyse data and help manage trading risk.

Role and Training

  • Participate in the day-to-day activities of Barclays’ global markets division.
  • Complete intensive initial training and ongoing development programmes to build relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Start as a salesperson or trader on a specific desk after initial training.
  • Develop communication, quantitative, analytical and global-markets skills throughout the programme.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Analyse client needs and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor markets and formulate trade ideas.
  • Perform analysis using fundamental and technical data.
  • Attend client meetings or calls with traders, salespeople and research colleagues.

Trading Responsibilities

  • Monitor markets and generate trade ideas.
  • Participate in pricing financial products.
  • Support trade reporting and profit-and-loss analysis.
  • Assist with managing risk across the team’s trading books.

Potential Desk Areas

  • Opportunities may span commodities, credit, equities, foreign exchange, rates and securitised products.
  • Other areas include client capital management, client strategy, eFICC trading, equity financing, municipals and structuring.

Requirements

  • Degree or expected degree in any subject.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Motivation, curiosity, interest in business and finance, and a good work ethic are desirable.
  • Willingness to learn and develop a technical skill set is desirable.
  • French, German, Italian, Spanish or Dutch language skills are desirable.

Location and Compensation

  • The programme is based in Barclays’ Paris office, serving local and global investment banking clients.
  • The listing shows salary information ranging from €30,000 to €85,000, including an €85,000 base-salary range.
