About the role
Barclays’ Milan Sales, Trading and Structuring Graduate Programme offers recent or soon-to-be graduates intensive training and exposure to global markets. Analysts develop communication, quantitative and analytical skills before joining a sales or trading desk, supporting client solutions, market analysis, pricing, transactions, risk management and new product opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities
- Analyse client needs, develop solutions, monitor markets and formulate trade ideas.
- Perform fundamental and technical analysis and support client meetings with sales, trading and research colleagues.
- Price products, complete trade reporting and P&L analysis, and assist with managing trading-book risk.
- Execute research projects, prepare presentations and reports, and support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product and service launches.
- Manage client relationships, process transactions, and develop financial models supporting markets-division decisions.
Programme Structure
- Complete intensive initial training before joining a specific sales or trading desk.
- Potential desk areas include Equities, Credit, Commodities, Foreign Exchange, Rates, Structuring and Securitised Products.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programmes to build technical and market knowledge.
- Sales analysts initially support colleagues before taking responsibility for their own client relationships.
- Trading analysts support daily desk activities while developing expertise in pricing, trade ideas and risk management.
Markets Division
- Barclays makes markets across major asset classes and provides solutions to institutional investors.
- Teams deliver market insights, execution services, risk management solutions and financing to clients.
- The Milan team provides financial advisory, capital raising, financing and risk management services worldwide.
