About the role

Join Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management in Monaco for a 3–6-month off-cycle internship. Work with experienced private bankers to analyse potential clients, prepare client materials, support credit and onboarding due diligence, attend meetings, and explore international private finance while developing relevant skills through training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis of potential clients and conduct research supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations, memoranda, reports, and other materials for existing and prospective clients.
  • Support credit and onboarding due diligence, transaction processing, and client service activities.
  • Attend client meetings with experienced bankers and help address questions about products and services.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and support new product and service launches.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues and cross-functional teams on private banking initiatives and financial strategies.

Team and Development

  • Work with high-net-worth clients and their advisors on complex banking and investment needs.
  • Build relationships and networks across Barclays’ global organisation and European locations.
  • Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Support research findings and contribute to informed decisions within the private bank and wealth management division.

Requirements

  • Be in the penultimate or final year of a degree in any discipline.
  • Demonstrate fluency in English and French.
  • Show an interest in business and finance, alongside curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit are valued.
  • Complete assigned activities promptly and accurately while contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Take responsibility for risk management, controls, policies, procedures, and relevant conduct standards.
