About the role

Bank of America’s Technology Infrastructure Summer Analyst programme in Chester offers non-software-development placements supporting critical servers, cloud platforms, networks, mainframes, databases, data centres, projects, and technology operations. Interns receive formal training, on-the-job support, speaker events, and mentorship while gaining exposure to infrastructure engineering and service delivery in financial services.

Teams and placements

• Hosting, application and database services cover capacity planning, operations, storage, and database management.
• Network Services supports internal and external network management and service assurance.
• Business Operations covers business management and financial management activities.
• Datacentre Services, Portfolio Management, and Mainframe Services support projects, operations, engineering, and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure engineers maintaining servers, storage, databases, data centres, upgrades, and critical systems.
• Support secure, reliable cloud solutions through infrastructure operations, automation, and security activities.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and manage performance across large-scale enterprise networks.
• Support mainframe automation, monitoring, reliability, performance, platform modernisation, and operational improvement.
• Support technology project planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, financial planning, and business performance activities.

Training and recruitment

• Receive formal training at programme start, on-the-job support, educational speaker events, and mentorship.
• Applications and assessments operate on a rolling basis; assessments may begin before the stated deadline.
• Successful interns may receive full-time employment offers commencing July 2028, with some January or April starts.
