About the role

Join Bank of America’s Global Technology team in Bromley as a 2027 Software Engineer Analyst. You will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications supporting products and services across more than 30 countries, while building technical, business, financial, and interpersonal skills through formal training, mentorship, and on-the-job experience.

The Team

  • Global Technology designs, develops, and supports applications for the bank’s products and services across more than 30 countries.
  • Teams collaborate with technical and business colleagues to deliver scalable, high-performing systems aligned with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using technologies including Java, C++, .NET, Python, web services, and AI-assisted tools.
  • Evaluate and promote responsible AI use across development while meeting security, privacy, risk, and governance standards.
  • Translate client requirements into technical designs and support business process reengineering.
  • Write code, complete unit tests, and deliver robust interfaces integrated with wider applications and systems.
  • Contribute to CI/CD delivery activities, including pull requests, issue triage, conflict resolution, design documents, and release notes.

Training And Development

  • Complete a comprehensive induction and extensive formal training at the beginning of the programme.
  • Receive on-the-job support, educational speaker events, mentorship, instructor-led and virtual training, and e-learning modules.
  • Learning covers technical skills, business acumen, financial skills, and interpersonal skills.

Eligibility And Skills

  • Pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree, completing all requirements between September 2026 and July 2027.
  • Be on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent and available to join in July 2027.
  • Show self-directed technical learning, motivation for technology careers in financial services, innovation, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate communication, interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, adaptability in fast-paced environments, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Desired Knowledge

  • Knowledge of React, Angular, .NET, Python, or Java.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented or relational database systems, including Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and the software development lifecycle.
