Prime Financing, 2027 1-Year Placement Analyst - London

About the role

12-month London placement in Bank of America’s Prime Financing team, offering exposure to equity financing, hedge fund client servicing, Stock Loan and Swaps trading, financial resources, risk, pricing, short coverage, market analysis and operations. Interns receive formal training, mentorship and early responsibility, with potential full-time employment from July 2029.

Team and programme

• Work within Prime Financing, with exposure to Physical Prime Brokerage, Stock Loan, Delta One products and Account Management.
• Support hedge fund relationships through account servicing, commercial opportunity identification and process improvement.
• Gain insight into Financial Resources, which optimises client revenues and resource usage within capital, liquidity and balance-sheet constraints.
• Collaborate with Prime Financing teams and understand their role within the broader Equities and Markets franchise.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with hedge fund clients and service accounts efficiently and effectively.
• Support risk and collateral management, regulatory initiatives, finance and operations across the trade lifecycle.
• Work with traders on book risk, hedging, pricing and sourcing efficient borrow liquidity for short obligations.
• Provide daily market colour on borrow liquidity and fees across EMEA stocks.
• Analyse data, client profitability and processes to identify growth opportunities and improve straight-through-processing efficiency.
• Undertake longer-term projects, including identifying and implementing operational improvements to streamline processes.

Training and progression

• Complete formal training at programme start, supported by on-the-job learning, speaker events and mentorship.
• Receive early responsibility and contribute significantly to the team and client franchise.
• Successful interns may receive full-time offers starting in July 2029; January or April starts may also be available.
• Deferrals are not available, and successful candidates must be available for an offered start date.
